Emergency Operation Development Projects in Iraq
Environmental & Social Instruments
funded by the IBRD
September 30, 2019 | EcoConServ proudly announces to have been awarded the contract to prepare Environmental and Social Instruments for Emergency Operation Development Projects in Iraq, an undertaking financed by the International Bank of Reconstruction and Development (IBRD). The project aims to support the reconstruction of damaged infrastructure and restoration of public service delivery in areas previously occupied by ISIS.
Under this framework, EcoConServ will prepare the appropriate safeguard instruments for multiple projects components – such as health service restoration, transportation, and more – in full compliance with the World Bank’s safeguard policies and guidelines as well as Government of Iraq legislations.
The safeguards instruments will identify the potential environmental and social impacts, including land acquisition and socio-economic impacts, labor influx issues (if any), define the necessary mitigation measures and develop practical and effective environmental and social management and monitoring plans during rehabilitation and operation phases.
